VIAGRA BENEFITS WOMEN IN FEW CASES
Date: 30-Jul-2008
Author: A. Graves
If men have Viagra to battle erectile dysfunction, what do women have to combat sexual dysfunction? Currently, the answer is nothing. However, recent studies have proven that women who suffer from sexual dysfunction due to the side effects of antidepressants can join in on the blue-pill craze to help alleviate symptoms.
Since most antidepressants lead to sexual dysfunction, many women have elected to cope without antidepressants. However, those who opt to take them may suffer from decreased sexual libido, and in some cases, outright sexual dysfunction.
Viagra, although not the buried treasure that many women are seeking, still was able to help 28 percent of women in a study pool of 98 women. The blue pills also helped 98 premenopausal women in obtaining stronger orgasms. Although the other 72 percent recorded no noticeable positive effects, the common question of whether Viagra helps women was answered.
There have been reported side effects among women taking Viagra to offset the side effects of antidepressants. According to Stanley Althof, director of the Center for Marital and Sexual Health of South Florida in West Palm Beach, 43 percent of the female users experienced headaches, indigestion and flushing.
