GOP HOPEFUL ROMNEY TO VISIT HOLLIS PHARMACY
Date: 28-Feb-2007
Author: Karen Lovett
HOLLIS - Folks in town will have a chance to clink coffee cups with a presidential candidate Thursday morning, as Mitt Romney is scheduled to swing into Hollis for a brief visit.

Romney, a Republican and former governor of Massachusetts, will drop by the Hollis Pharmacy on Ash Street around 11 a.m., said Sarah Pompei, a Romney staff member.

He is expected to spend a half-hour with townspeople for "coffee and a personal chat," according to information from local Republicans.

Vahrij Manoukian, who owns the pharmacy and is chairman of the Hillsborough County Republican Party, said Romney's staff called several days ago to ask about a Hollis appearance.

"We'll be honored to have him here," Manoukian said.

Romney's swing through New Hampshire on Thursday will begin in Concord, where he is holding a town meeting-style event, Pompei said. He'll head to Hollis at 11 a.m.; then to Nashua to attend an awards banquet sponsored by the Nashua Chamber of Commerce; and will wind up his day in Hampstead.

Romney's most recent Granite State campaign visit was in Merrimack this past weekend.

Those interested in meeting Romney on Thursday are being asked to park at the Hollis Village Marketplace and walk to the pharmacy.
