EVERETT MAN ADMITS BREAKING INTO PHARMACY TO STEAL DRUGS

SEATTLE - An Everett man pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court to burglarizing an Edmonds pharmacy in 2005 and participating in a forged prescription ring to acquire the painkiller Oxycodone.
Brent E. Murray, 30, is scheduled for sentencing Sept. 28 by Judge Robert Lasnik. The crimes are punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
According to court papers, Murray admitted committing the Dec. 5, 2005, after hours break-in of the J and J Pharmacy on 212th Street SW in Edmonds.
Before the burglary, Murray went to his place of employment, a security business in Everett, where he obtained the alarm code for the security system at the pharmacy. The code was used to de-activate the alarm.
Large quantities of Oxycodone and other narcotics were taken.
In addition, Murray admitted conspiring with others to acquire drugs with forged prescriptions in 2005 and 2006.
Federal agencies and the Everett Police Department investigated the case.
